Welcome again to Mirth and Music Monday. This week, I have my very favorite TV couple for you, George Burns and Gracie Allen. I’m not much of a George Burns fan, but when he was with Gracie, he was actually pretty funny. Really, though, it’s Gracie I watch for. 🙂 If you’re not familiar with George and Gracie humor, let me give you a heads-up. Gracie was an expert word-twister. Not in a mean way, in a fun, cooky way. Her character either took a phrase too literally or not literally enough, and when she had some scheme up her sleeve, all the other characters needed to watch out! Because she ran verbal circles around them long before they ever caught up. This videos are just small samples of Gracie logic.
Mmm… George and Gracie

When I was a kid, my parents watched old reruns of Burns & Allen. One of show business’s great couples!

Yes! 🙂 My husband and I love to watch it together, as well, though it comes on too late for the kids.
